Structure and working principle of water-cooled radiator

water cooled radiator

A water-cooled radiator is an efficient computer cooling system. It absorbs and carries away the heat generated by the CPU and other computer components by circulating coolant. Thus maintaining the computer at a safe operating temperature.

The following is the structure and working principle of water-cooled radiator:

Structure of water-cooled radiator

The structure of a water-cooled radiator usually includes the following main parts:

1. Water cooling block:

The water cooling block is a metal block with water channels left inside, usually made of copper or aluminium, chosen for its good thermal conductivity.

The water cooler is in direct contact with the CPU and absorbs the heat generated by the CPU into the coolant in the water channel through heat conduction.

2. Circulating fluid:

Circulating fluid is a key component in a water-cooled radiator. It is responsible for circulating through the system, absorbing and carrying away heat. The circulating fluid can be distilled water, deionised water or specialised heat transfer fluid.

3. Water pump:

The role of the water pump is to propel the circulating fluid through the system. It ensures that the coolant is able to continuously absorb heat from the water cooling block and carry it to the radiator to be dispersed.

4. piping:

Piping connects the water pump, the water cooling block and the tank or heat exchanger. Its function is to allow the circulating fluid to circulate in a closed channel without leakage. This ensures the proper functioning of the liquid cooling system. 5.

5. water tank or heat exchanger:

Water tank is used to store the circulating fluid. When the circulating fluid absorbs heat from the water cooling block, it will flow into the water tank to release the heat.

6. Cooling fans:

A cooling fan is usually provided on the heat sink of the water tank or heat exchanger. The rotation of the fan generates airflow, accelerating the dispersion of heat.

Working principle of water-cooled radiator

The working principle of a water-cooled radiator is based on the physics of heat transfer:

1. Heat absorption:

When the CPU and other computer components work, they generate a lot of heat. The water cooling block is in close contact with the CPU and absorbs the heat generated by the CPU into the coolant in the water channel through heat transfer.

2. Heat transfer:

The coolant that has absorbed heat flows through the pipes to the water tank or heat exchanger under the action of the water pump.

3. Heat Dissipation:

In the tank or heat exchanger, the coolant radiates the absorbed heat into the air through the heat sink. At this point, the cooling fan speeds up the air flow to help the heat dissipate faster.

In summary

Water-cooled radiator through its unique structure and working principle. It can efficiently take away the heat generated by the CPU and other computer components, ensuring that the computer components run stably at a safe operating temperature.
